HOW IT STARTED
GROWING UP ONLINE
I started making TikTok videos when I was 13 in my bedroom after school.
From there, I had reached over 1M followers by the time I was 15. Although I loved making content, food was always my passion.
Somewhere along the way, I became known as someone who took food.. very seriously.
PRESSING PAUSE
When I got a bit older, I stopped posting regularly. I moved to out of the UK, travelled the world and gave myself time away from the constant cycle of making content.
I wasn't looking for a business idea. I was simply experiencing new places and eating a lot of food.
THE AUSTRALIAN DISCOVERY
I had an Australian friend living abroad who would import 'chicken salt' because he missed it so much. Upon trying it my eyes lit up. It was bright, savoury and made hot chips taste properly finished.
I fell in love with it. After travelling around the world and trying a lot of food, this was the seasoning I had always wanted for chips. The question followed immediately: why wasn't this experience part of everyday food culture back home?
BACK TO THE UK
When I returned to the UK, I spent two years developing the recipe. I bought and compared every chicken salt I could find, tested batch after batch and kept changing the balance of ingredients.
The goal wasn't to copy Australia. It was to capture the feeling that made me fall in love with chicken salt, then turn it into a modern British seasoning people would reach for every day.
THE RESULT
BEAKY is a modern British chip salt inspired by the Australian experience that started it all.
It began with chips, but it didn't stop there. Chicken, roast potatoes, vegetables, popcorn, eggs, burgers—if it needs more flavour, shake on BEAKY.
